Terms of Service

By creating an account, accessing, or using pub.co (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

pub.co is operated by Atomix LLC, a Colorado limited liability company (“we,” “us,” or “Atomix”). Pub.co is a tradename registered with the Colorado Secretary of State.

pub.co helps authors create a public author profile page and book pages under my.pub.co/<your-slug>. We use AI services to pre-populate your profile from public information about you (your website, Amazon Author page, Goodreads profile, etc.), and provide an editor for you to refine the result. We surface affiliate links to retailers such as Amazon.

You must be at least 13 years old to use pub.co. By using the Service you represent that you are old enough to form a binding contract under your local law.

We use a third-party authentication provider, Clerk, to manage sign-in. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You may not impersonate another person, create an account on behalf of someone else without their authorization, or claim the public identity of an author whose works you did not author.

You retain ownership of the content you submit or that we collect on your behalf during onboarding (author bio, book descriptions, links, images, etc.) (“User Content”). By submitting User Content you grant Atomix a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content as reasonably necessary to operate the Service.

You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant that license, and that your User Content does not infringe any third party’s rights or violate any law.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful purposes;
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
• Upload or link to malicious content;
• Attempt to interfere with, probe, or reverse-engineer the Service;
• Use automated means to scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service beyond what we make publicly available;
• Submit content that is obscene, defamatory, harassing, or that infringes intellectual property.

We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms.

We use third-party AI models (currently provided by Anthropic) to draft biographical and book summary text based on the URLs you supply. AI-generated text may contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and editing AI-generated content before relying on it, and you remain the author of the public-facing text on your pub.co page.

As an Amazon Associate, Atomix earns from qualifying purchases. Links to Amazon on your author page and book pages contain Amazon Associates affiliate tags, and Atomix may receive a commission when readers purchase via those links. Other retailers we add in the future may operate similar programs. This does not change the price the reader pays.

The Service, including its design, code, branding, “pub.co” tradename, logos, and content (other than your User Content) are owned by Atomix and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy or use them without our written permission, except as the Service functionally allows.

The Service uses third parties to operate, including but not limited to Clerk (authentication), Supabase (database hosting), Anthropic (AI text generation), Vercel (application hosting), and the Amazon Associates Program. Use of those services may also be governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for content, products, or services on third-party sites we link to.

You may delete your pub.co account at any time by contacting us at the email below. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, are abandoned, or for any other reason in our reasonable discretion. Upon termination, your public pages may be removed.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ATOMIX, ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100), OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Atomix harmless from any claim arising out of your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Exclusive venue for any action arising under these Terms lies in the state or federal courts located in Boulder County, Colorado, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll update the effective date at the top and, for material changes, notify you via the Service or by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.
